Facial Sculpting & Kobido

What is facial sculpting massage?

+

Facial sculpting massage is a therapeutic technique that uses precise, rhythmic movements to release muscle tension, stimulate circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage in the face and neck. It targets the underlying muscles and fascia rather than just the skin surface, producing both structural improvements and deep nervous system relaxation. Results include visible lift, reduced puffiness and a more defined facial contour.

What is Kobido and where does it come from?

+

Kobido is a centuries-old Japanese facial massage tradition, originally developed as a ceremonial treatment for royalty. It combines precise sculpting movements with an understanding of the body's energy pathways to restore circulation, release tension and reveal the face's natural structure. At Scure, Aleksandra draws on Kobido as the foundation of all sculpting treatments.

What results can I expect from a facial sculpting session?

+

After a single session, most clients notice visibly lifted contours, reduced puffiness and a significant softening of tension in the jaw, neck and temples. The nervous system response is often as striking as the physical changes — a deep, settled calm that can last for hours or days. Firmer muscle tone and lasting lift develop cumulatively with regular sessions.

Is facial sculpting massage a good alternative to Botox or fillers?

+

Facial sculpting works differently from injectables — rather than freezing movement or adding volume artificially, it improves muscle tone, fascia quality, circulation and lymphatic drainage. Many clients choose it as a standalone approach, while others use it to maintain muscle health alongside occasional injectable treatments. Results are genuine and cumulative, reflecting real changes in the underlying tissues.

Who is facial sculpting massage for?

+

Facial sculpting is particularly well suited to anyone noticing jaw tension, persistent puffiness, or loss of definition in the jaw and cheekbones. It is also popular with those seeking a natural alternative to injectables, and with people who hold chronic stress in the face and neck. Results are visible after a single session, making it a popular pre-event treatment.

How often should I have facial sculpting massage?

+

Most clients come monthly for maintenance, which keeps muscle tone, lymphatic flow and fascia quality in good condition. For specific concerns — such as TMJ tension or significant loss of definition — a more intensive course of four to six sessions every two to three weeks can accelerate results. Aleksandra will advise a personalised plan at your first appointment.

How long do facial sculpting results last?

+

After a single session, the visible lifting effect typically lasts two to five days. With regular monthly sessions, improvements become more sustained as muscle tone builds and the underlying tissues respond cumulatively. Clients who maintain a consistent schedule generally find that results hold for longer over time.

What is kinesiology face taping and how long does the tape stay on?

+

Kinesiology face taping involves applying elastic therapeutic tape along facial muscles and lymphatic pathways at the end of a session to prolong the lifting and drainage effect. The tape is gentle on skin and easy to remove at home — most clients wear it overnight or for several hours after their session. It is included as standard in the Scure Signature Sculpt (£85).

Can I have facial sculpting massage during pregnancy?

+

Many techniques can be adapted during pregnancy, but suitability depends on the stage and individual circumstances. Please mention your pregnancy when booking and at the start of the session so the treatment can be tailored safely. If you are unsure, message Aleksandra on WhatsApp before booking.

Buccal Massage

What is buccal massage?

+

Buccal massage, also called intraoral massage, involves working inside the mouth to release the deep muscles of the jaw — particularly the masseter, pterygoids and buccinator. These muscles are difficult to address effectively from the outside alone. It is especially effective for jaw tension, TMJ discomfort, teeth grinding and the chronic facial holding patterns that result from stress.

Is buccal massage painful?

+

Buccal massage can feel strong in areas where significant tension is held, but it should not be painful. Aleksandra always adapts pressure to your comfort and checks in throughout the session. Most clients describe the experience as deeply releasing — particularly those who grind or clench their teeth — with noticeable relief in the jaw and temples immediately after.

What conditions does buccal massage help with?

+

Buccal massage is most effective for jaw tension and TMJ discomfort, headaches related to masseter tightness, teeth grinding and clenching, and the squaring or heaviness of the lower face caused by overdeveloped jaw muscles. It also contributes to the overall sculpting effect by releasing the deep structures that influence the shape and definition of the jaw and cheekbones.

What does buccal massage feel like?

+

Aleksandra works inside the cheek with gloved hands to apply targeted pressure to the jaw muscles. In areas of significant tension it can feel intense, but clients consistently describe the release as meaningful relief rather than discomfort. By the end of the session, the jaw typically feels notably softer, lighter and less locked.

How is buccal massage different from a regular facial massage?

+

Regular facial massage works on the skin, superficial muscles and lymphatic system from the outside. Buccal massage accesses the deep jaw muscles from inside the mouth, releasing tension that external techniques cannot fully reach. The combination of both approaches — as in the Scure Deep Sculpt and Signature Sculpt — produces a significantly more thorough release.

Are there any contraindications for buccal massage?

+

Buccal massage should be avoided within six to eight weeks of dental surgery or significant dental work. Active infections in the mouth or gums, recent facial injectables within four weeks, and oral ulcers are also reasons to postpone. If you have any concerns, mention them when booking and Aleksandra will advise.

How many buccal massage sessions are needed to see results?

+

Many clients feel a meaningful difference after a single session — particularly in jaw heaviness and tension headaches. For chronic TMJ discomfort or habitual clenching, a short course of three to four sessions in closer succession typically produces the most significant and lasting improvement.

Which Scure treatments include buccal massage?

+

Buccal massage is included in the Scure Deep Sculpt (£75, 85 min) and the Scure Signature Sculpt (£85, 90 min). The Scure Sculpt (£65, 75 min) focuses on Kobido techniques without intraoral work. If you are specifically seeking jaw tension relief or TMJ release, the Deep Sculpt or Signature Sculpt is the recommended starting point.

Acne & Congested Skin

What causes adult acne?

+

Adult acne is most commonly driven by hormonal fluctuations — from the menstrual cycle, stress, contraceptive changes or perimenopause — which increase sebum production and accelerate cell shedding beyond what pores can clear. Elevated cortisol from chronic stress, dietary factors and a disrupted skin microbiome also contribute. Unlike teenage acne, it often concentrates along the jawline and chin.

Can facials actually help acne?

+

Yes, when performed correctly. Professional facials provide safe, thorough extractions that clear blocked pores without spreading bacteria — something very difficult to achieve at home without risk. Active ingredients applied during treatment reduce inflammation and rebalance sebum production. Regular sessions also prevent congestion from accumulating and improve overall clarity over time.

What is congested skin?

+

Congested skin describes a complexion where pores are clogged with dead cells and sebum, resulting in blackheads, milia, rough texture and a dull, heavy-looking surface. It is not the same as acne — congested skin may not have active breakouts — but it often precedes them, and the same purifying approach addresses both effectively.

How is the Skin Reset facial different from a regular facial?

+

The Skin Reset is specifically formulated for acne-prone and congested skin, not a generalised treatment. It uses professional-grade purifying actives, targeted extraction work and anti-inflammatory ingredients calibrated for reactive, breakout-prone skin. The aim is to clear, calm and rebalance — not just cleanse and moisturise.

How often should I have the Skin Reset facial?

+

For active or persistent acne, every three to four weeks aligns with the skin's natural renewal cycle and prevents congestion from rebuilding. For milder concerns, every four to six weeks is usually sufficient. Aleksandra will advise a course tailored to your skin's current state at your first appointment.

Is extraction painful?

+

Professional extractions can feel uncomfortable, particularly in areas of inflammation, but should not be painful. The skin is thoroughly cleansed, steamed and softened before any extractions begin. Aleksandra works carefully to minimise discomfort and avoid any damage to the surrounding skin.

Can I have a facial if I have active breakouts?

+

Yes — the Skin Reset is designed specifically for skin with active congestion or breakouts. It is important to seek professional treatment rather than avoiding it, as leaving congestion untreated can allow it to deepen and spread. Aleksandra will assess your skin at the start of the session and adapt the treatment accordingly.

What should I do in the days after an acne facial?

+

Keep the skin clean and avoid touching it unnecessarily for 24 to 48 hours. Skip active ingredients such as retinol or strong acids for two to three days and apply SPF daily. Avoid excessive heat — saunas, intense exercise and very hot showers — on the day of treatment. Aleksandra provides tailored aftercare guidance at the end of your session.

What is the difference between acne and congested skin?

+

Acne involves inflammation — papules, pustules and cysts — alongside comedones such as blackheads and whiteheads. Congested skin refers primarily to blocked pores without active inflammatory lesions, presenting as texture, milia, blackheads and a dull surface. Both benefit from the Skin Reset, and many clients present with a combination of both.

Skin Resurfacing

What is skin resurfacing?

+

Skin resurfacing refers to treatments that remove the outer layer of dead skin cells to reveal fresher, brighter skin underneath. At Scure, this is achieved through chemical exfoliation — using carefully selected acids to dissolve dead cell bonds — or microdermabrasion, which uses controlled physical abrasion. Both methods also stimulate the skin's natural cell renewal process.

What is the difference between chemical exfoliation and microdermabrasion?

+

Chemical exfoliation uses acids such as AHAs or BHAs to dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to shed evenly across the surface. Microdermabrasion uses controlled physical abrasion — typically crystals or a diamond tip — to mechanically remove the outer layer. Both achieve similar results, and Aleksandra will select the most appropriate method for your skin type and concern.

How does skin resurfacing improve uneven skin tone?

+

Post-inflammatory pigmentation, sun spots and surface discolouration sit predominantly in the outer layers of skin. By systematically removing those layers, resurfacing accelerates the natural fading process and reveals the clearer, more even-toned skin underneath. With regular sessions, overall tone becomes more consistent and the complexion noticeably brighter.

Is there any downtime after a resurfacing facial?

+

Most clients experience mild redness or sensitivity for a few hours after treatment, which settles quickly. There is no significant downtime and most people return to normal activities the same day. SPF is essential in the days following treatment to protect the freshly revealed skin.

How many sessions do I need for skin resurfacing?

+

A single session produces visible improvement in brightness and texture. For more sustained results — particularly for post-acne pigmentation or significant uneven tone — a course of three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart gives the most consistent improvement. Monthly maintenance sessions keep skin looking its best long-term.

Can I have a resurfacing facial if I have sensitive skin?

+

This depends on the nature and severity of your sensitivity. Chemical exfoliation is not suitable for very reactive or barrier-compromised skin. If your skin is sensitised, the Hydro Infusion Facial is a better starting point to repair and strengthen the barrier first. Aleksandra will assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate treatment path.

What should I avoid after a resurfacing facial?

+

For 48 hours after treatment, avoid retinol, strong acids, prolonged sun exposure and heat treatments such as saunas or steam rooms. Use a gentle moisturiser and apply SPF daily — resurfaced skin is more susceptible to UV damage. Aleksandra will advise on the full aftercare protocol at the end of your session.

What is the current price of the Resurfacing Facial?

+

The Resurfacing Facial is currently available at a launch offer price of £49 (usually £90) until 15 June 2026. The session lasts 85 minutes. Book via the website or message Aleksandra on WhatsApp to secure the offer price.

Sensitive & Dehydrated Skin

What is a compromised skin barrier?

+

The skin barrier is the outermost protective layer responsible for keeping moisture in and environmental irritants out. When it is damaged — through over-exfoliation, stripping cleansers, pollution, hormonal changes or chronic stress — the skin loses its ability to regulate itself effectively. The result is persistent dryness, redness, reactivity and a feeling of discomfort that topical products alone struggle to resolve.

What is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?

+

Dry skin is a skin type — it produces less sebum and tends to feel rough and tight regardless of circumstances. Dehydrated skin is a temporary condition that any skin type can develop due to lifestyle, diet, weather or product choice. Signs include tightness, dullness and fine lines that appear when the skin is pressed. The Hydro Infusion Facial is effective for both.

Why is my skin always red or reactive?

+

Persistent redness and reactivity almost always signal a compromised skin barrier. A weakened barrier allows environmental triggers — temperature, products, stress and hormonal changes — to provoke an inflammatory response the skin cannot dampen quickly. Strengthening and repairing the barrier is far more effective than trying to manage individual triggers with additional products.

How does the Hydro Infusion Facial help sensitive skin?

+

The Hydro Infusion Facial uses SkinBase technology to infuse moisture and barrier-supportive actives — ceramides, peptides and soothing ingredients — deep into the skin in a single session. Rather than stimulating or challenging the skin, the treatment focuses entirely on restoration and calm. Most clients notice reduced redness, improved plumpness and less reactivity immediately after their first session.

What is SkinBase hydration therapy?

+

SkinBase is a professional skin treatment system used in clinical and aesthetic settings. The hydration therapy component uses a controlled infusion process to deliver moisture and active ingredients beyond the skin's surface layers, achieving results that regular moisturisers cannot replicate. It is gentle enough for the most reactive and sensitised skin types.

Can oily skin be dehydrated?

+

Yes — this is one of the most common misconceptions about skin. Dehydration refers to a lack of water in the skin, not a lack of oil. Oily skin can be severely dehydrated, which often causes the skin to produce even more oil in compensation. The Hydro Infusion Facial addresses dehydration regardless of whether the skin is oily, dry or combination.

How often should I get a hydrating facial?

+

For maintaining a healthy skin barrier, monthly treatments work well as an ongoing rhythm. If your skin is acutely reactive or dehydrated, starting with two to three sessions spaced two to three weeks apart can produce a significant initial improvement before moving to monthly maintenance. Aleksandra will advise based on your skin's current state.

What skincare habits help maintain a healthy skin barrier?

+

The most impactful habits are using a gentle, non-stripping cleanser, applying a barrier-supportive moisturiser while the skin is still slightly damp, and wearing SPF daily. Reducing the frequency of strong acids and retinoids — particularly if skin is reactive — also makes a significant difference. Aleksandra can recommend a tailored at-home routine during your treatment.
