Question 1

What is kobido facial massage?

Accepted Answer

Kobido is a centuries-old Japanese facial massage technique that uses rhythmic, sculpting movements to stimulate circulation, release muscle tension, and encourage lymphatic drainage. At Scure, Aleksandra adapts Kobido's traditional methods to work deeply on the facial muscles, fascia, and connective tissue — addressing both the structural and nervous system dimensions of the face.

Question 2

How much does facial sculpting massage cost in London?

Accepted Answer

At Scure in Archway, facial sculpting massages start from £65 for the 75-minute Scure Sculpt, with the Scure Deep Sculpt at £75 (85 min) and the Scure Signature Sculpt at £85 (90 min). These are among London's most accessible prices for specialist Kobido and buccal massage; comparable studios in central London typically charge £100–£150 or more.

Question 3

What is buccal (intraoral) massage and what does it help with?

Accepted Answer

Buccal massage involves working inside the mouth to release the deep jaw muscles — particularly the masseter, pterygoids, and buccinator. It is especially effective for people who clench or grind their teeth, hold chronic tension in the jaw, or experience TMJ discomfort. At Scure, buccal massage is included in the Scure Deep Sculpt (£75) and Scure Signature Sculpt (£85).

Question 4

How often should I get a facial sculpting massage?

Accepted Answer

For most clients, a session every three to four weeks works well as a maintenance rhythm. If you are addressing a specific concern — such as persistent jaw tension, post-stress puffiness, or chronic facial holding patterns — a more intensive course of four to six sessions close together can accelerate results. Aleksandra will advise on a personalised plan during your first session or consultation.

Question 5

Where is Scure located and how do I book?

Accepted Answer

Scure is based at Beautiful Salon, 639 Holloway Road, Archway, London N19 5SS — a short walk from Archway Underground station on the Northern Line. You can book directly through the website at scure.co.uk, or message Aleksandra on WhatsApp at 07715 467531. Appointments are available Monday to Thursday 10:00–18:00, Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 09:00–19:00, and Sunday 12:00–16:00.

Question 6

Is facial sculpting massage painful?

Accepted Answer

Facial sculpting massage should not be painful. Areas around the jaw, temples, and masseter may feel tender if you carry significant tension there, but pressure is always adapted to your comfort. Buccal massage can feel unusual at first, but clients typically describe it as deeply releasing rather than uncomfortable.

Question 7

Who is kobido massage for?

Accepted Answer

Kobido is well suited to anyone noticing facial tension, jaw clenching, persistent puffiness, or loss of definition in the jaw and cheekbones. It is particularly effective for office workers who hold stress in the face, people who grind their teeth, and those looking for a natural, non-invasive alternative to injectables.

Question 8

Is facial sculpting massage a good alternative to Botox or fillers?

Accepted Answer

Facial sculpting massage improves muscle tone, fascia quality, circulation, and lymphatic drainage rather than freezing movement or adding volume artificially. Many clients choose it as a standalone approach or alongside occasional treatments to maintain muscle health. Results build with regular sessions and reflect genuine changes in the underlying tissues.

Question 9

What results can I expect after one session?

Accepted Answer

After a single session most clients notice visibly lifted contours, reduced puffiness, and a significant softening of tension in the jaw, neck, and temples. The nervous system response is often as striking as the physical results — a deep, settled calm that can last for hours or days.

Question 10

Does buccal massage hurt?

Accepted Answer

Buccal massage involves intensive work on the masseter and jaw muscles from inside the cheek, so it can feel strong in areas where significant tension is held. It should never be painful — pressure is always adjusted in response to what the client is feeling, and Aleksandra checks in throughout.

Question 11

Can I have facial sculpting massage if I'm pregnant?

Accepted Answer

Many techniques can be adapted during pregnancy, but suitability depends on the stage and individual circumstances. Please mention your pregnancy when booking so the treatment can be tailored safely, and contact Aleksandra on WhatsApp if you are unsure before booking.

Question 12

Are there any reasons I shouldn't have this treatment?

Accepted Answer

The main contraindications are active skin infections, recent dental or oral surgery, and facial procedures including injectables — a gap of at least two to four weeks after Botox or fillers is recommended. If you are unsure whether anything in your history affects your suitability, ask via WhatsApp before booking.

Question 13

What is kinesiology face taping and how long does the tape stay on?

Accepted Answer

Kinesiology face taping applies elastic tape along facial muscles and lymphatic pathways at the end of the massage to prolong the lifting and drainage effect. It is gentle on skin and most clients wear it overnight or for several hours after the session. The taping is included in the Scure Signature Sculpt.

Question 14

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Arrive with clean skin if possible; if not, your skin will be cleansed at the start of the session. Avoid a heavy meal immediately beforehand, particularly if your treatment includes buccal massage. There is no downtime — you can return to normal activities straight after the appointment.
